Ilmarinen’s Suomi-rahasto I Ky private equity fund and some of Ovenia Oy operative management bought Ovenia´s shares from Sponda Oyj.

Ovenia Oy´s ownership base was expanded in order to further strengthen the company’s growth and development. The main owner, property investment company Sponda Oyj, now owns 45 per cent of Ovenia shares. Ilmarinen’s Suomi-rahasto I Ky private equity fund, administered by OKO Venture Capital Oy, bought approximately 15 per cent of the shares.
- These investments demonstrate trust in our strategy and operations. The reforms carried out since spring 2007 in company´s activities, strategy, and client management promote our goals. We want to be able to respond better to our clients’ needs and increase our market share, says Ovenia´s CEO Mika Valtonen.

Some members of the operative management in Ovenia Oy also acquired shares, together totalling 10 per cent of the company´s shares. These new owners are Mika Valtonen, Ari Matomäki, and Mikko Turunen.
-  For us, this decision stands for a serious personal commitment to the development of Ovenia on a long time span, Valtonen comments.

Ovenia´s owners now include Sponda Oyj, Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company, Sampo Oyj, Sampo Life Insurance Company Limited, Ilmarinen's Suomi-rahasto I Ky, and some of Ovenia’s operative management. Mr. Valtonen is satisfied with the broadening of the company’s ownership base.
- The investors behind us are all long-span operators. Establishing clear plans and objectives will make Ovenia an increasingly competetive service provider in the business.
