Ovenia Oy receives first ISO 9001 certification for property management in Finland

On 11 April 2012, Ovenia Oy, a company specialised in property management, received ISO 9001:2008 certification for its quality system. This third-party certification proves that the company’s operations are customer-driven, systematic and aimed at the development of quality. It is an indication of the company’s ability to produce efficient property management services, from management of maintenance to expert services.

 “Applying for quality certification was a strategic decision to reinforce the company’s position as the certification is a guarantee that we operate according to internationally approved quality management principles and will result in the development of services according to customer needs and intensified operations,” says Mika Valtonen, CEO of Ovenia Oy.

 During the certification procedure, the operations of the entire organisation were examined from the perspective of processes and results. The basic idea of the ISO 9001 system is to ensure that an organisation operates according to specified processes and manages and improves these operations continuously. Det Norske Veritas (DNV) carried out an external assessment of the system and focused in particular on the usability of the system from the perspective of the personnel.

 “The company’s entire personnel has been very committed to and involved with the setting up of the quality system, which was an essential factor enabling the company to receive certification. It is possible to verify the property management service promises and the information systems used provide excellent support for Ovenia’s operations,” says Valtonen.
